The JF Maddox Foundation was founded by Jack and Mabel Maddox in 1963. The Foundation is dedicated to supporting educational programs, social initiatives, and community development projects that would enhance the quality of life for residents of Lea County, New Mexico.

In honor of Jack, a 1929 Texas Tech graduate, the Maddox Foundation made a significant contribution to the Law School by creating the Jack F Maddox Professorship. This donation enabled the Law School to hire a distinguished national scholar and enhance its reputation on a national level. Since then, the Maddox Foundation has continued to support the law school with various additional gifts.
