Amelia McElveen serves as Lecturer of Music Humanities, and her courses include Music in Western Civilization, Advanced Special Topics in Evil Medievalism, and Survey of Popular Music. McElveen received her Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin in 2025, her Master of Music in Historical Musicology from the University of Texas in 2019, and her Bachelor of Arts degree in Music, General Concentrations from Truman State University in 2017. Her doctoral research documented liturgical traditions within Vietnamese Catholic diasporic monasteries in the United States since 1975. McElveen's current scholarly interests are contemporary monastic traditions, chant and metal music, environmental studies, and liturgical dancing.
