Master of Music in jazz performance

The Master of Music in Performance with a Jazz Concentration creates an environment for students that allows them to focus on their development as a complete jazz musician. The degree typically takes two years to complete and includes two one-hour recitals presented to the public. In addition to working closely with one of our artist-educators in private lessons, each student will also study arranging, pedagogy and advanced harmony/transcription/analysis in small, group seminars, perform in high quality large and small ensembles, and collaborate with their peers in a supportive, engaging environment. A limited number of graduate teaching assistant positions are also available, which provide a stipend and qualify out-of-state students for in-state tuition rates. All applicants will be considered for a TA position.
