Red Raider Orientation

As a newly admitted Red Raider, you are invited to attend Red Raider Orientation (RRO). During RRO, you will learn about the programs and services offered at Texas Tech University and Rawls College. The senior director of the Rawls College Undergraduate Services Center will share helpful tips and next steps for your academic journey, and you will have the opportunity to build a visual schedule and participate in a one-on-one advising appointment with an academic advisor. Before your scheduled session, your assigned advisor will reach out to welcome you to Rawls College.

Rawls College RRO Checklist

1. Complete Online Modules

All incoming, undergraduate students are required to complete online modules to learn about the academic/social expectations of Red Raiders, both in and out of the classroom, as well as, other helpful information about succeeding at Texas Tech. These modules can be done at your own pace and will take about 60-90 minutes to complete. Your progress is automatically saved, and you can return to your modules at any time if you need to take a break. Online modules must be completed prior to your scheduled advising and registration session.

2. Send AP/dual credit transcripts to Texas Tech, if applicable

We recommend that you submit your high school transcript for advising purposes as some high school credits may impact course selections at Texas Tech. Transcripts should be sent to Box 45005, Lubbock, TX 79409 or through an electronic transcript service to admissions.transcripts@ttu.edu.

3. Watch the Rawls College Red Raider Orientation Preview video

4. Build your preferred schedule based on your personalized advising sheet

The day before your virtual advising and registration appointment, you will receive an email with a copy of your personalized advising sheet and a link to schedule builder. Before meeting with your academic advisor, utilize the virtual schedule builder tool to customize your preferred course schedule with the classes listed on your advising sheet. During your one-on-one virtual advising appointment, your academic advisor will review your schedule, answer any questions you might have and register you for classes.

5. Meet with your Rawls College advisor and register for classes

All incoming students are required to complete an advising and registration session. During your session, you will meet with an academic advisor from Rawls College, who will help you register for classes.
