Following the close of the spring semester, the Jerry S. Rawls College of Business students gathered to celebrate their graduation and look forward to the endless possibilities that lie ahead. This semester saw a record undergraduate business enrollment for the spring term with more than 5,000 students, which is in line with a record enrollment of more than 10,200 undergraduate business students for the academic year. More than 950 students graduated with their Bachelor of Business Administration representing a diverse range of programs, including accounting, energy commerce, finance, information technology, marketing, management, supply chain management, and general business.

Fallon Contreras, director of student engagement and recruitment for the Rawls Experience Hub (REH), formerly undergraduate services, says commencement season is always a fulfilling time of the year.

“At the REH, we consider graduation a day not only when students graduate with a degree, but also with a story,” Contreras said. “This story is the culmination of everything they built during their undergraduate experience through their courage to show up, get involved, and make the Rawls College and Texas Tech their own."

Within the master’s programs, close to 300 students graduated, representing a variety of disciplines within the Master of Science – including marketing research and analytics, finance, data science, and accounting – with concentrations in auditing, financial reporting, and taxation. Additionally, students graduated with a Master of Business Administration in global business management, with concentrations in health organization management, information technology, marketing analytics, STEM, and general business. The graduate class also included Ph.D. in Business Administration students with concentrations in accounting, finance, and management as well as certificates in essentials of business and business analytics.

Anissa Moussa, assistant director for professional MBA recruitment/admissions, says that graduating with a master’s degree is a testament to the Red Raider spirit.

“At Rawls, you don’t only earn an MBA — you master the balance of ambition and real-world leadership,” Moussa said. “These graduates have proven what Red Raiders do best: rise to the challenge with grit and purpose.”

Of the graduating students, 15 percent were first-generation college students — an inspiring milestone that reflects the determination, resilience, and hard work of those who are the first in their families to earn a college degree. Their achievements not only pave the way for future generations but also reflect the commitment to student success fostered by the Rawls College.

As commencement season ends and more than 1,200 business students launch into their next life stage, the Rawls College is preparing to welcome a record-breaking number of students in the fall. Incoming students will enroll in reimagined and updated undergraduate classes, our nationally ranked graduate programs, and newly introduced offerings — both in person and online.
