Esports and Streaming Lab Policies
Esports and Streaming Lab Policies
Food & Drink
Food and drink are NOT allowed in the eSports and Streaming Lab to prevent damage to computers and other equipment. Water is permitted if it is in a closed-top container and not placed on desks or furniture where electronic equipment is present.
Passwords & Personal Log In Data
Never allow a browser or web application to save your password. For the safety and well-being of your data in systems such as eRaider, Blackboard, OneDrive, be sure to log out of applications and websites that contain sensitive information.
Personal Peripheral Devices
Outside peripheral device use is limited to eSports team events. Outside peripheral devices must be pre-approved by CoMC staff before connecting to a CoMC device.
Data Safety
Because lab computers have limited storage, local files are not saved on the computer hard drive. Save important files to a thumb drive or cloud storage service (such as OneDrive). Items left in the room will be given to Texas Tech Police Department.
Close Applications and Log Off of the Computer
Please remember to close out programs at the end of your time using the computer. To log out correctly, click the Windows icon at the bottom left of the screen, click on your user profile, then select ‘Log Out.
Clean Up
Please help keep the lab tidy by helping with little things like pushing in your chair at the end of your use. If you have moved the keyboard and/or mouse out of the way, please place them back in front of the monitor.
When concluding time on PCs, users are expected to clean up their area, including wiping down equipment with cleaning materials provided.
Security and Safety
Because the College of Media and Communication values the safety of our students, faculty, and staff, lab activities are recorded by security cameras. By using this facility, you signal your understanding that your activity in this room will be monitored.
Use of this facility indicates that you accept and agree to all usage policies.
Thank you for helping care for CoMC technology resources.
