Graduate Certificate: Advanced Digital & Social Media
Our 12-hour graduate certificate program in digital and social media is designed to introduce seasoned communication professionals to technology that is changing the face of communications in an ever-growing, global society.
Our program is offered exclusively online to meet the needs of our students, most of whom are communication professionals. Our students have busy work and personal lives – they demand access to a quality graduate program with the most flexible, convenient delivery method available.
Where to study. Since their computer is their classroom, students can complete all coursework at home, in the office, or on the road. It's learning from anywhere.
When to study. Our asynchronous program means that students never have to be at their computers at a designated time. They can choose to study at 2 p.m., 2 a.m., or anytime in between.
When to start. Students can choose to start our master's program at the beginning of any semester – Fall, Spring, Summer I or Summer II.
Size of courseload. Taking one, two or three classes per semester is up to each student. They work with the program director on a course plan that makes the most sense for them.

These programs are targeted to communication professionals. We are dedicated to admitting students who are likely to be successful in the program and who will benefit from that success.

The college application will require the following:
1. Personal Statement
This should be a 300-500 word statement, that illustrates your writing ability by discussing your reasons for pursuing graduate work in our program and any additional information you believe will help in the selection process.
Complete resume including any related professional experience, skills, educational experience, etc.
3. Writing Samples
Samples from work or courses that show your ability to communicate clearly and concisely to your intended audience.
Names and email addresses for three professional or academic references. Each will be asked to complete an electronic form evaluating your competence in a variety of areas including critical thinking skills, intellectual ability, and leadership ability.
Applicants must also have had an overall undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or above. If they don't meet this requirement, they may choose to take the GRE and submit those scores in addition to the other material.
