CARS Seed Travel Grants Guidelines and Template

 

Applications due May 10, 2024  

CARS Seed Travel Grants will support TTU faculty visiting one (1) of three (3) of our Central American partners with the goal to identify areas of collaborations. Funds will be available up to $3,000 per travel grant and up to 4 awards to cover travel expenses only (airfare, lodging, local transportation, and per diem) Travel must be completed by October 25, 2024. Travel seed grants are open to all TTU tenure-track and continuing appointment faculty.

  1. Use the application template below (click on the logo) to apply.
  2. Identify at least one external Request for Proposal (RFP) that the supported work will allow you to apply for in the future. RFPs for any sum will be acceptable, depending on the standards within the applicant's field. Awardees will work with TTU IA's International Grants and Partnerships (IGAP) unit to develop and submit the grant proposal.
  3. Travel must be completed, and funds must be transferred to departmental accounts and expended by October 25, 2024.
  4. Submit proposals electronically to Michael Johnson.
  5. Consult with the appropriate contact in your Dean's Office for any additional internal requirements.
  6. A final report is due upon project completion.
  7. IA will award faculty four travel awards to travel to one (1) of three (3) of our CARS Partner Institutions listed below. We encourage applicants to apply to the institution which aligns best with their research goals. Multiple submissions to different institutions will not be allowed.
