Energy Law Concentration

The Energy Law Concentration is for law students interested in energy law. It covers topics like oil and gas, wind, and solar and is designed to help students prepare for a successful career in this fast-moving industry.
 
To complete the Energy Law Concentration, students must submit an Intent to Complete form, get approval from the Concentration Director, and fulfill the following requirements:

  1. Complete a minimum of 15 credit hours in energy-specific courses, including required courses in Oil & Gas Law I and Wind & Solar Law, as well as elective courses covering various energy-related topics. Students must achieve at least a 2.80 cumulative grade point average in the required and elective concentration courses.
  2. Write a 6,000-word scholarly paper on energy law.
  3. Participate in at least five public events on energy-related topics, submitting a 500-word reflection for each event.

Successful completion of the concentration requirements will be noted on the student's law school transcript.
