This scholarship was established in 2014 by Karen (Harrison) and Stephen Brand, and matching funds were made available by the J.T. and Margaret Talkington Foundation. The endowed scholarships shall be used to recruit top students to Texas Tech School of Law and shall be granted based upon merit.  In order to qualify for the endowed scholarships the awardees shall have a GPA and LSAT score that is at or above the previous class's 75th percentile.  To retain the endowed scholarships each semester the awardees shall be ranked in the top 20% of their class the previous semester. Each awardee shall be a Texas resident and a U.S. citizen.  The endowed scholarships shall be held for no more than three years by each awardee.
