The Beaumont Foundation of America established this scholarship in honor of Wayne Reaud. The J.T. and Margaret Talkington Foundation provided matching funds for this scholarship.

A highly respected trial lawyer, Wayne founded Reaud, Morgan and Quinn. He has been involved in many influential cases and represented the State of Texas in landmark litigation against the tobacco industry. He is the chairman emeritus of the Beaumont Foundation of America and a director of the Reaud Charitable Foundation. He was recognized as a Distinguished Alumnus by Texas Tech University School of Law and Lamar University and awarded the Honorary Order of the Coif by the University of Texas.

This scholarship is awarded annually to outstanding law students at Texas Tech University.
