Though originally from the Dallas-Fort Worth area, Professor Lux has proudly called Lubbock home for many years. She first came to West Texas as an undergraduate at Texas Tech University, where she earned a B.A. in Psychology with minors in Chemistry, Biology, and Women’s Studies. Her path to law school, however, was anything but traditional.

Before earning her J.D., Professor Lux spent nearly a decade in academic and student support roles, helping students navigate challenges and achieve their goals—a passion that continues to shape her work with law students today. She eventually returned to Lubbock, where she served as the Director of Calendar & Events for the Texas Tech Law Office for Student Life. Her dedication to supporting students earned her the student-awarded honors of Staff Member of the Year and Cornerstone of Texas Tech Law in 2017. Working alongside Texas Tech Law students as they pursued their goals inspired her to begin her own legal education journey.

As a law student, Professor Lux was actively involved in advocacy and student leadership, ultimately competing on national advocacy teams and serving as Managing Editor for Volume 53 of the Texas Tech Law Review. But her most rewarding experiences came from mentoring and serving as a doctrinal tutor for first-year law students. These experiences continue to shape her teaching philosophy and her approach to helping students build confidence and practical skills, including through interactive learning exercises like her “Personal Jurisdiction Toolbox”.

Now, as Assistant Professor of Law and Director of Academic & Bar Success Programs, Professor Lux brings her joy for teaching and supporting student success to the classroom, workshops, and bar preparation programs. She is dedicated to helping students recognize they are capable of more than they think, whether guiding a first-year student through Civil Procedure or helping graduates navigate the pressures of bar preparation. Her commitment to student success has been recognized with the Texas Tech Law Employee of the Year award in 2024 and the Texas Tech Alumni Association’s Top Techsan Award in 2026.

Professor Lux regularly presents and conducts research on neurodiversity and neurodivergence in legal education, focusing on how law schools can better support neurodivergent law students and promote their success. Drawing on both her personal and professional experiences as a neurodivergent lawyer and professor, she advocates for systemic approaches that help all students succeed.

When she is not teaching or writing, Professor Lux works with a local non-profit to support the stray cat community and spends her downtime watching k-dramas with her own pets: Franklin, Weasley, and the Stray “Kits:” Han, Lixie, and Dwaekki.
