Janessa serves as the Assistant Dean of Academic Services and Registrar at the Texas Tech University School of Law, where she oversees registration, records, and key academic operations. Working closely with the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, she leads course scheduling, classroom assignments, and academic calendar distribution. Janessa provides essential support for academic programs and produces strategic data reports for internal planning and external reporting. Her office also serves as the central resource for law students regarding degree requirements, graduation certification, and transcript services.

Janessa has been with Texas Tech University since 2005, previously serving as the Managing Director of Academic Support & Facilities Resources. She is recognized nationally for her expertise in academic scheduling, student demand forecasting, and space utilization in higher education, having presented at national conferences and been cited in professional publications.

In addition to her university work, Janessa has held several board positions, including with the National Network of Law School Officers (2017–2019), the Legal Aid Society (2016–2019), the Ad Astra Client Advisory Board (2010–2013), and the Lubbock Mayor’s Fitness Council (2019–2022). Her contributions were honored with the Texas Tech University System Chancellor’s Award of Excellence in 2021.

She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from Texas Tech University and an International MBA from Long Island University.
