As Assistant Dean of Academic Services and Registrar, Janessa directs the registration and record-keeping aspects of the School of Law. She works closely with the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs to direct course and classroom scheduling, distribution of schedules, and registration. She provides extensive logistical support for academic programs as well as various data reports, both internally and externally. In addition, her office serves as the central point of contact for law students regarding degree requirements, graduation certification, and transcript requests.

Janessa has worked at Texas Tech University since 2005, most recently as the Managing Director of Academic Support & Facilities Resources before joining the School of Law. She has presented nationally and has been quoted in publications regarding scheduling in higher education, student demand forecasting, and academic space utilization. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from Texas Tech University and an International Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Long Island University.

Janessa is a mother of 2 who likes to travel, cook, read, hike, do yoga/Pilates, and go camping. She volunteers with various charities in the Lubbock community and is a staff advisor to the Miller Girls Service Organization at Texas Tech.
