Meagan Watson earned her Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Master of Arts in Cinema Studies from New York University before finding her way to the legal profession. She earned her Juris Doctor from Texas Tech University School of Law in 2025 and is licensed to practice law in Texas.

Meagan’s path to the law was anything but traditional. Before law school, her career spanned the arts, the airline industry, and higher education administration. Those experiences continue to shape the way she approaches student support, mentorship, and problem-solving. She spent five years at New York University School of Engineering, where she ultimately served as Director of Academic Advising and Student Services. In that role, she developed and led student success initiatives focused on retention, academic achievement, and holistic support for a diverse undergraduate population.

As a law student, Meagan represented Texas Tech on its ABA National Negotiation Team and served as a Research Assistant and Qualified Student Representative for the Low Income Taxpayer Clinic. After graduation, she practiced civil litigation and transactional law in Lubbock, Texas.

Meagan now serves as Director of Academic Success Programs and Associate Director of First-Generation Resources at Texas Tech University School of Law, where she provides individualized and programmatic academic support to law students, teaches in the first-year curriculum, and oversees the law school’s doctrinal tutoring program. As a first-generation law student, she is especially passionate about helping students from all backgrounds navigate law school with confidence, connection, and a sense of belonging.

Outside the office, Meagan enjoys traveling, especially to Spain, and shares her home with her cat, Polly.
