Success in advocacy is one of the oldest and best traditions at Texas Tech Law! From
the time of Coach Don Hunt and our first national championship back in 1980 to our
top national rankings today under the leadership of Professor Rob Sherwin '01, advocacy
has been the pride of the Law School.
Just last week, 2Ls James Ashmore and Arvin Farangi won the Law School's 51st national
advocacy championship at the inaugural Hall of Fame Sports and Entertainment Law Negotiation
Competition! Texas Tech Law is also the only school in the country to rank in the
top ten of the ABA's Competitions Championship every single year since the rankings
began.
To build on this tremendous record of success, Foundation Board President Tom Hall
'81 has pledged $125,000 to support our advocacy students through match donations
to new scholarship endowments for students with a demonstrated commitment to excellence
in advocacy.
Generally established with a gift of at least $25,000, you can join with Tom and show
your support by endowing a personal scholarship in your name with a gift of just $12,500,
which can be pledged over a three-year period.
TOM HALL '81 HAS PLEDGED $125,000 TO MATCH DONATIONS MADE TO SCHOLARSHIP ENDOWMENTS BENEFITING STUDENTS WITH A DEMONSTRATED COMMITMENT TO EXCELLENCE IN ADVOCACY.
If you have ever considered establishing a scholarship endowment, taking advantage of these matching funds now will allow you to make an even larger direct impact on students at the Law School.
- This is a dollar-for-dollar match of $12,500 for your $12,500 donation to a scholarship
endowment directed to students
with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in advocacy. - The gift can be pledged over 3 years.
- Gift or first pledge payment must be received within 90 days of the date of the gift agreement.
Matching funds are available on a first come, first serve basis!
If you are interested in establishing a scholarship endowment to benefit students
with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in advocacy, I would be happy to talk
with you about this exciting and rare opportunity.
