It’s no secret that the School of Theatre & Dance continues to grow in ambition and reach. We’ve always looked for the most unique ways to train our students to prepare them for the increasingly competitive professional world, one based not only on talent and hard work, but also good fortune. To facilitate this growth, we’re excited to share with you our Producer’s Circle.
The dance program is teeming with momentum and energy with a new cohort of graduate and undergraduate students; auditions and rehearsals for "Fall Dance Festival" and "DanceTech: Rites of Spring;" and our first appearance at the Texas Dance Improvisation Festival (TDIF).
Dr. Bill Gelber is a Professor of Acting/Directing/Pedagogy. Known for his artistry in directing, his innovative approaches to teaching, and his lifelong dedication to education, Gelber is retiring after 24 years of faithful service at the end of the 25-26 academic year.
The upcoming production of Lizzie marks a pioneering moment in the School of Theatre and Dance as it will feature—for the first time—a student serving as Music Director for a show inside the season.
