Aside from teaching and producing theatre and dance, the thrust of this semester has been dedicated to putting together a massive (think well over 200 pages) report for re-accrediting our program with the National Association of Schools of Theatre, helmed by Professor Mallory Prucha, but with contributions from our entire faculty and staff. It’s called a Self-Study, and it describes and analyzes in detail every aspect of our program.

Established in 2019, Texas Tech’s improv troupe is rebranding. BFA musical theatre student, Thomas Schnaible, a member of Humor Us! said the new “post-Covid” world played a role in changing the name.

Kristi Franks is a proud alumna of Texas Tech University who graduated in 2003 with a BA in Dance and a BA in Communication Studies. She returned in 2020 and completed a MA in Dance Studies in 2022. An award-winning professor of dance at Tyler Junior College, Franks has become adept at juggling teaching, dance shows, lectures, travel, and family.
