Curriculum Vitae
Gilberto Corona is a Mexican designer, researcher, and educator. He received his Diseño
para la comunicación gráfica (Design for Graphic Communication) degree from the Universidad
de Guadalajara in 2012 and his MFA in Design & Visual Communications (MxD) at the
University of Florida in 2022. Corona has designed for a variety of firms and nonprofits,
including Aqua Comunicacion, MDM Modama International Exhibition of Footwear, Thomson
Reuters, TATA Consultancy Services, and CENSIDA in Mexico.
Shaped by his life experiences, his research and practice interest focus on horizontal
design, design for social impact, LGBTQIA+ issues, immigration, and their intersections.
Corona shares his work and research at conferences including: The Maria Sibylla Merian
Center for Advanced Latin American Studies in the Humanities and Social Sciences (CALAS), Congreso de Jóvenes Investigadores: Producción de Conocimiento En Tiempos De Crisis:
