"Putting on the Dog: Dogs Without Borders" Photography Exhibit

Love dogs? Enjoy photography? Help us celebrate the (international) dog days of summer!

International Affairs invites the Texas Tech and Lubbock communities to experience Putting on the Dog: Dogs Without Borders, a juried photography exhibition celebrating the special bond shared between people and dogs across cultures and continents. The exhibit will be on display at the International Cultural Center from August 3 through September 18, 2026.

The exhibit features photographs submitted by Texas Tech students, faculty, and staff, showcasing the remarkable character and global heritage of man's best friend. While more than 150 breeds are recognized by the American Kennel Club, the vast majority trace their origins to countries around the world. Each selected photograph identifies the breed's country of origin, highlighting the rich international history behind these beloved companions and reflecting International Affairs’ mission to foster global awareness through education, culture and our shared experiences.

In conjunction with the exhibition, International Affairs is teaming up with The Haven Animal Care Shelter, https://www.havenacs.org/,for the One Bowl at a Time Pet Food Drive. Visitors are encouraged to donate dry or wet dog and cat food, as well as unopened treats, to help provide daily care for animals awaiting their forever homes.

The exhibition is FREE and Open to the Public. 

Throughout the exhibition, pet food donations may be dropped off at the International Cultural Center (ICC) and various locations listed below.
