Expanding the Role and Impact of Art
In addition to the individual creative research that School of Art faculty pursue, they often seek out collaborations across disciplines collaborating with colleagues in the sciences or in medicine at the University or with colleagues in professional practice outside the University setting. Art Making Connections expands the role and impact of artistic practice across communities.
Research Areas
Art & Place
Place-based art practice promotes an experiential, interdisciplinary approach to learning that involves listening, connecting, transforming, and reviving to develop an understanding of the value of place. Using cooperative learning strategies members of a place enable listening and learning from the community and the land, and facilitate restoration through art-making and myth-making.
