The Texas Tech University Graduate School is pleased to announce the 13th annual Arts and Humanities Graduate Student Research Conference. Graduate students pursuing degrees in the arts and humanities are invited to submit a 250-word abstract that showcases their current work or research. Fields where research can engage the fields of arts and humanities include (but are not limited to):

  • Economics
  • English
  • Design
  • Foreign Language
  • Geography
  • History
  • Linguistics
  • Media & Communication
  • Philosophy
  • Political Science
  • Visual & Performing Arts

On November 30th from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., students who submit abstracts will have 5 minutes to present their work to a panel of judges. Online and distance students are eligible to participate. Instructions and additional information about the competition can be found in the Competitors Guide

A panel of judges will rate each presentation and determine a winner. Scholarship prizes will be awarded to one winner in each competition category. There will be a question-and-answer period at the end of each panel.

Deadlines for this event are firm. Production of the event program, assignment of judges, and scheduling of presentations require advanced planning. Additionally, these deadlines allow us to review all abstracts so students can provide revisions if necessary. We appreciate your cooperation.
