The Texas Tech School of Music provides specialized training to prepare undergraduate students for professional work or further advanced study, teaching music in early childhood through secondary school settings, and general cultural attainment. The curriculum is designed to present the learning of music as an integrated whole. Solo and ensemble performance; humanities and theoretical and historical studies; concert attendance and electives both within and outside the School of Music are intended to provide a balanced education.
