CARS Virtual Conference 2026
Call for Proposals

Texas Tech University International Affairs is proud to announce the Central American Research Symposium (CARS) Virtual Conference for scholars to engage with international researchers July 21-22, 2026! The  CARS Virtual symposium’s goal is to increase international research collaborations between TTU faculty/graduate students and faculty researchers at Higher Education Institutions (HEI) in Central America.  The TTU CARS Virtual symposium provides a vehicle for TTU faculty to engage with international faculty from partnering Central American universities and discuss potential multidisciplinary research projects related to One Health and internationalization initiatives. Additionally, the CARS offers opportunities for TTU graduate students in related programs to present ongoing related research through a poster session. All sessions and poster presentations will be conducted in English.


Symposium themes:

One Health

  • Cross-disciplinary, cross-border collaborations for One Health initiatives
  • International solutions for complex problems
  • Building capacity for One Health initiatives abroad

Internationalization and Professional Development

  • Internationalization processes for development
  • Digital transformation and technological innovation for international research
  • Forming international networks, partnerships, and collaborations

Eligibility:

Texas Tech faculty and faculty from Central American (Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Panama) higher education institutions (HEIs) are eligible to apply to present a 90-minute session and/or participate in a scholarly panel. Presenters may choose to co-present with up to two co-presenters. Please indicate interest in participating in a panel in the form below.

Texas Tech graduate students and graduate students from Central American HEIs are eligible to apply to present a poster on related session themes.


CARS Virtual Conference 2026 Session and Graduate Poster Presentation Proposals

Session and graduate poster presentation proposals are due by Monday, March 2, 2026 at 5:00pm CST.

Presenters will be notified Monday, March 16, 2026.
