Jack R. Gipson Memorial Endowed Scholarship

The Jack R. Gipson Memorial Endowed Scholarship was established in 1993 by Mrs. Edna Gipson, family and friends in memory of her husband, Jack Gipson. The scholarship is awarded to undergraduate students classified as a sophomore or above interested in agronomy.

Dr. Arthur Frederick and Mary Lene Gohlke Endowed Scholarship

The Dr. Arthur Frederick and Mary Lene Gohlke Scholarship Endowment was established in 2000 by Mrs. Mary L. Gohlke. The scholarship is awarded to undergraduate students in the Department of Plant and Soil Science with a preference to students interested in agronomy.

The Wilson and Ann Holden Scholarship Endowment was established by Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Holden in 1992. The scholarship is awarded to undergraduate students majoring in horticulture and good academic standing.

The Ivey Memorial Scholarship Endowment

The Ivey Memorial Scholarship Endowment was established by Gary and Jane Ivey in 1995.  The scholarship is awarded to Texas resident students in the field of Agronomy with interests in crop production and related agribusiness. Preference is given to students from rural areas.Ivey was born January 4, 1935 in Crosby County to Aaron Dudley and Golda Beulah (Morton) Ivey. He was a graduate of Ralls High School. He married Mary Nell Freeman on July 30, 1955 in Crosbyton. He had lived and farmed in the Caprock area all his life. Next to his family cotton had been his life. In 1974 he was the first person in Crosby County to use module builders and hauling equipment. Gary had been a member of the Crosby County Farm Bureau since 1972 and had served as president, vice president and treasurer of the organization. In addition he also served on the policy development, tax, cotton and in house audit committees. Mr. Ivey also served on the board of directors of Plains Cotton Growers and was chairman of the organization's Boll Weevil Steering Committee. He was also past president, vice president and secretary-treasurer of the Plains Cotton Growers. He was an advisor to the National Cotton Council of America. From 1981 to 1985 he served on the board of directors for Cotton Inc. and served in 1983 as treasurer of that organization. He had served as chairman of the Audit Committee and as assistant chairman of the International Marketing Committee. He won the Gerald Thomas award for Outstanding Agriculture from Texas Tech. He was a Charter member of Agri Lubbock, a member of the Texas State Seed and Plant Board in 1990, and was chairman of the Texas State Support Committee from 1996-97. Gary had also served as the president of both the Ralls Chamber of Commerce and the Ralls Lions Club. He received the District 2 Farm Bureau Pioneer award for 2004.

Dan and Lee Ruth Krieg Endowed Scholarship

The Dan and Lee Ruth Krieg Scholarship Endowment was established by Dan and Lee Ruth in 2014. The endowment provides two scholarships annually. One scholarship is awarded to an undergraduate senior, in the amount of $1,000, who has intentions of attending graduate school at Texas Tech University in the Department of Plant and Soil Science to conduct research in the area of crop management and water use efficiency. The other scholarship is awarded to a graduate student, in the amount of $2,000, who is currently enrolled in the Department of Plant and Soil Science conducting research in the area of crop management and water use efficiency.

Robert L. Leach Memorial Endowed Scholarship

The Robert L. Leach Memorial Endowed Scholarship was established by T. L. and Maurine Leach, Carol Leach, and Mary Leach in memory of Robert L. Leach. The scholarship is awarded to undergraduate students who are majoring in Integrated Pest Management.

Hoss Newsom Viticulture Scholarship

The Hoss Newsom Viticulture Scholarship was established by the Texas Wine and Grape Growers Association in 2012. Scholarships are awarded to undergraduate and graduate students studying in the Viticulture and Enology program in the Department of Plant and Soil Science. Recipients of this scholarship must be hardworking.

Ellen B. Peffley Scholarship Endowment

The Ell B. Peffley Scholarship Endowment was established by Ellen B. Peffley in 2010. The scholarship is awarded to both graduate and undergraduate students majoring in Horticulture Science degree plan, with Science as their emphasis. The recipient must be in good academic standing.
