Tech's Animal and Food Sciences ranked in 'Top 20' by GraduateProgram.com

Texas Tech University's Department of Animal and Food Sciences recently was ranked among the Top 20 in the country, according to GraduatePrograms.com. The online guide ranks higher education programs based on student evaluations, which cover a variety of topics, such as academic competitiveness, career support, financial aid, and quality of network.

GALLERY: Bayer Plant Science Building foundation preparations underway

Winter construction continues on Texas Tech's College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources new $13.6 million expansion and renovation of what will be known as the 'Bayer Plant Science Building.' The project adds 21,122 square feet of new construction, and includes 2,440 square feet of renovation and exterior upgrades to the existing home of the university's Department of Plant and Soil Science. Among the upgrades on tap are new open labs with expanded support and graduate student spaces, as well as an instructional lab, departmental suite and space for research equipment. Renovations within the existing building will create new space for faculty, staff and graduate students and will provide a connection to the new building. The building project is funded by donations to Texas Tech, including lead contributions from Bayer CropScience.

On The Record; CASNR students honored at 'Who's Who' reception

Thirteen outstanding students from Texas Tech University's College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources have been included in latest edition of 'Who's Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities," according to school officials. The university hosted a special 2014 Who's Who Recognition Reception&' on Nov. 16 at the McKenzie-Merket Alumni Center.
