Established in 1979 by gifts from the Board of Directors of Best Maid Products, Inc. from Margie Dalton Tarwater, and from Dalton Tarwater, in honor of J.O. Dalton and Mildred M. Dalton who founded, in 1927, Mrs. Dalton's Best Maid Products of Fort Worth, Texas. The scholarship is awarded to a Food Technology major on the basis of academic achievement.

Established in 1997 by Texas Tech University Meat Science Association and Texas Tech University Meat Science Alumni Association. The scholarship is for undergraduate students in the Department of Animal Science and Food Technology studying meat science.
